Romantic McHenry, Illinois Backyard Wedding
First things first. Vicky and Ben’s backyard wedding was a tear-jerker for sure. During their ceremony, I fought back tears from behind my camera as they cemented their love story for one another through their faith in Jesus and the power of forever in front of everyone they love. And then they threw a big party complete with everyone they love! It really was the perfect wedding day.
Their plans ended up changing last minute because of a mask mandate that was put into place in Illinois just weeks before their wedding. However, they were determined to not let that ruin their wedding day. So they went from planning on a big formal church ceremony complete with a getaway in Ben‘s vintage convertible — to the sweetest backyard ceremony at the bride’s father and step-mom‘s home.
Vicky and Ben are also best friends one of my 2020 wedding couples, Kristen and Sean. They were actually matron of honor and best man in their wedding! It was so fun to catch up with them and have them be a part of Vicky and Ben‘s special day. They both gave a toast to Vicky and Ben during their reception, and it was such a joy to see the love between all of them and how important they all are in each others lives.
