Hatch Lake Family Session | Iola, WI | Sandrock Extended Family
When Jean and Paul first inquired about their session with me, they gave me the option of doing photos during their 50th anniversary celebration dinner, or doing their family session at their lake house that has been in their family for 60+ years. As your photographer, I am always going to go with the location that has sentimental value to you and your family. Their family session on Hatch Lake in Iola was a reminder that true, unconditional love lives in these bonds you form with the people who love you the most and see you for who you really are.
Jean told me the history of their lake house. Her father had built it. She and her boys had all grown up here. As we were walking the trails, they showed me the playground Paul had built for their grandson. That’s the kind of family love and history that was all around us during this session.
The Sandrocks were so much fun. We laughed together and I left this family session feeling reminded of how great it is to have people you can laugh with. Finally, Jean and Paul snuck away at the end of their session for a glass of wine down by the lake. We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their favorite nightly tradition and a perfect summer sunset.
