Iverson Park Extended Family Session

Three generations (grandparents, siblings, and grandchildren) standing on a bridge during their extended family session at Iverson Park in Stevens Point.

When Elizabeth emailed me about an extended family session, I jumped at the opportunity. We decided on Iverson Park for their family session in Stevens Point, one of my favorite parks to do family photos! The bridges and the river are stunning backdrops for your family photos, and the playground is the perfect place to end your session!

This summer has been full of extended family sessions for me, and there is nothing I love more than getting to watch the love that flows between you and the people you are closest to. These weekends spent with cousins and grandparents, three generations of your family all together, will always be the weekend trips you never regret taking. For all of the “Are we there yet?”s, missed naps, and fruit snack bribes, these are the moments you will miss most ten, twenty, thirty years from now.

My secret sauce to doing extended family sessions is setting the locations at parks. The main reason? You can let your kiddos run off all that energy they were holding in during photos on the playground. And that’s where you get the best candids of them, too! Magic happens when you let go of the expectations for perfect photos and just let your kiddos play and be kids. Trust me on this one.
