Pumpkin Patch Family Session | The Lasky Family
I love it when an unexpected text turns into an adventure. Amanda texted me, “Wanna come to the pumpkin patch with us? And coffee at Red Mill?” And I am always down for a spontaneous adventure. We took some family photos of them for Christmas cards at Red Mill and then headed off to Turners Fresh Market for the fun slide, tractor rides, and of course — pumpkins! Pumpkin patch family sessions are truly my favorite.
I have been doing the Laskys family photos since Emmet was two and every year, I marvel at how much he has grown and evolved a little bit more into his own person. This is the first year that he’s really gotten into photos, both during our annual summer session for his birthday and during our fall session. The greatest gift you can give your photographers is to return to them year after year to document your family. Watching your kiddos grow up in front of my lens is the biggest compliment and makes my heart sing every time I have a repeat family client.
Amanda and Greg chose a small white pumpkin this year to honor their son and Emmet’s twin, Scott, that was lost due to complications at birth. They have a small garden in their front yard dedicated to him and every year, they decorate it for each season. The photos of Emmet with his brothers pumpkin are some of my favorites from our little adventure session.
